HAMBURG — Services for J.P. Stacker, 87, of Roxie, who died Monday, Dec. 1, 2014, at the Baptist Hospital in Jackson, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Hamburg with the Rev. Carl Johnson officiating.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from noon until service time Sunday at the church.
Mr. Stacker was born Jan. 16, 1927, in Mississippi, the son of Manual and Clara Stacker.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Willie Stacker, Percy Stacker and Emanuel “Junior” Stacker; and two sisters, Ruby Ware and Rosie Lee Wright.
Survivors include six children, J.L. Stacker and wife, Iris, of Greenville, Vinnie Smith and Deloris Jones, both of Roxie, Louise Washington and Beatrice Williams, both of Jackson, and Ernest Gilmore of Fort Wayne, Ind.; 12 grandchildren, Jarred Stacker, Tonya Jones, Chris Jones, Corey Smith, Connie Paige, Keith Smith, Kimberly Smith, Gary Smith, Eric Smith, Monnia Gandy, Ronda Smith and Tony Smith; two sisters, Alice Shaw and Loreather Turner, both of Clarksdale; one brother, Amanual Stacker of Chicago; and a number of great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
