NATCHEZ — A Ferriday man was arrested Wednesday in connection to an alleged armed robbery and kidnapping that took place last week in the parking lot of Vidalia Walmart.

Lonnie J. Moore, 51, 212 Tennessee Ave., Ferriday, was arrested and charged with aggravated kidnapping (two counts) and armed robbery.

Vidalia Assistant Police Chief Bruce Wiley said Moore held two victims at gunpoint in the Walmart parking lot before instructing them to drive him to Ferriday.

After arriving in Ferriday, Wiley said Moore stole the victim’s money before fleeing the scene.

Wiley said the victims weren’t harmed, but police officials believe Moore targeted the victims.

Investigators are still determining more details regarding the case.

Moore remained in jail Wednesday evening with no bond set.
