FERRIDAY — Funeral services for Ricky Allison Kennedy, 64, who died Friday, Dec. 12, 2014, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Young’s Funeral Home with Whest Shirley officiating.

Burial service will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Natchez, under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Kennedy was born on Nov. 24, 1950, in Delhi, the son of William Alon and Susan Delaney Kennedy.

Kennedy graduated from Ferriday High School in 1969. He graduated in 1984 from Alcorn State University with an associate degree in nursing. He practiced nursing for the past 30 years, with the last 25 plus years in the intensive care unit at Natchez Community Hospital. He loved reading, hunting and helping people, but most of all, his family.

Kennedy was preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Elizabeth Ann Mulder Kennedy.

Survivors include his wife, Melanie Burns Kennedy; daughters, Alison Miller and husband, John, of Natchez and Brittany Kennedy of Vidalia; son, Nic Kennedy and wife, Emily, of Southaven; granddaughter, Danyelle Neal and husband, Jeffery, of Ridgecrest; grandsons, Nicholas Allen Kennedy of Southaven, Brody Lane Kennedy of Southaven and Elijah Owens Currie of Vidalia; great-grand children, Braxton Joseph Ratcliff, Camryn Leigh Ratcliff and Kalub Austin Neal; sister, Faye Miller and husband, Roger, of Texas; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Danny Welch, Jimmy Dickey, Terry Waggoner, Charles Anderson, Gary Dale Wike and Steve Acuff.

Honorary pallbearers will be Parnell Burns, Donnie Newman, Larry Tucker, Don Aldrige and Larry Kass.
