VIDALIA — Services for Edward “Fella” Curtis Jr., 94, of Vidalia, who died Monday, Dec. 8, 2014, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with the Rev. Earnest Ford Sr. officiating.

Burial will follow in Natchez National Cemetery, with military honors, under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Curtis was born Jan. 3, 1920, in Vidalia, the son of Edward and Patsy Carr Curtis.

He was a retired oil field truck driver and served in the US Navy during World War II. He was a member of the American Legion Sydney Shorter Post 590.

Mr. Curtis was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Bessie Curtis; one son, Edward Curtis III; one daughter, Clara Bowman; and one grandchild, Cynthia Bowman.

Survivors include two sons, Thomas Curtis and wife, Shirley, of Alhambra, Calif. and James Curtis of Torrance, Calif.; one grandson he raised as his own son, Calvin Curtis and wife, Debra, of Vidalia; four daughters, Margie Turner and Mary Smith, both of Vidalia, Edna Horn of Los Angeles and Jacqueline Smith of Fresno, Texas; one brother, Eli Curtis of Las Vegas, Nev.; 14 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
