NATCHEZ — Services for Helen Jean “MayLee” Virgil, 68, of Natchez, who died Thursday, Dec. 11, 2014, at Baptist Hospital in Jackson, will be at 11 a.m. today at Pilgrim Baptist Church with the Rev. Carl Smith officiating.

Burial will follow in Grove African Methodist Episcopal Church cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.Helen Jean Virgil obit 12:16

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time today at the church.

Ms. Virgil was born May 16, 1946, in Natchez, the daughter of Merrick Roosevelt and Alberta Conner Fulton.

Her home church was Bethlehem Baptist Church, where she was baptized at an early age. She was current member of Beulah Baptist Church, where she served on the mother’s board.

Ms. Virgil was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Annie Clara Holmes.

Survivors include two sons, Henry Carl Virgil and wife, Lisa, and Curtis Wayne Virgil and companion, Weslynn Williams, all of Natchez; one daughter, Darlene Renay Virgil of Natchez; one brother, Edward James Conner and wife, Brenda, of Natchez; two sisters, Ruby Lee Fulton Mason of Natchez and Vera Fulton Moses and husband, Leslie, of Baton Rouge; one special niece, Jonna Jeanette of Beaumont, Texas; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a number of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
