FERRIDAY — Services for Ricky Allison Kennedy, 64, of Vidalia, who died Friday, Dec. 12, 2014, will be at 10 a.m. today at Young’s Funeral Home with Whest Shirley officiating.
Burial service will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park cemetery, in Natchez, under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.
Mr. Kennedy was born on Nov. 24, 1950, in Delhi, the son of William Alon and Susan Delaney Kennedy.
He graduated from Ferriday High School in 1969 and from Alcorn State University, in 1984, with an associate degree in nursing. He practiced nursing for the past 30 years, with the last 25 plus years in the intensive care unit at Natchez Community Hospital.
He loved reading, hunting and helping people, but most of all, his family.
Mr. Kennedy was preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Elizabeth Ann Mulder Kennedy.
Survivors include his wife, Melanie Burns Kennedy; one son, Nic Kennedy and wife, Emily, of Southaven; two daughters, Alison Miller and husband, John, of Natchez and Brittany Kennedy of Vidalia; one step-son, Joseph Patrick Vogt Jr. of Natchez; three grandson, Nicholas Allen Kennedy and Brody Lane Kennedy, both of Southaven, and Elijah Owen Currie of Vidalia; one granddaughter, Danyelle Neal and husband, Jeffery, of Ridgecrest; three great-grand children, Braxton Joseph Ratcliff, Camryn Leigh Ratcliff and Kalub Austin Neal; one brother, C. B. Kennedy and wife, Jean, of Texarkana, Texas; one sister, Faye Miller and husband, Rogers, of Atlanta, Texas; and a number of nephews and nieces.
Pallbearers will be Danny Welch, Jimmy Dickey, Terry Waggoner, Charles Anderson, Gary Dale Wike and Steve Acuff.
Honorary pallbearers will be Parnell Burns, Donnie Newman, Larry Tucker, Don Aldridge and Larry Kass.
