NATCHEZ — Memorial services for Myrtis Lee Williams, 82, who died Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2014, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at noon Friday at King Solomon Baptist Church with the Rev. Alvin Day officiating.
Burial will follow in Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home.
Mrs. Williams was born May 4, 1932, in Learned, Miss. the daughter of James and Charlie Mae Williams.
She confessed Christ at an early age and was baptized under the leadership of the Rev. Ephraim Wade Rhone at King Solomon Baptist Church and served faithfully until her health failed.
She was a dedicated and faithful member of the Willing Workers, Junior Missionary Auxiliary and senior choir.
She attended Adams County Public School System and Natchez College where she pursued a degree in nursing.
Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her husband, Freddie Monroe Williams II; her parents; one son, Charlie Edward Williams; one brother, Lee Dell Williams Sr.; three sisters, Betty Jean Williams-Hall, Florine Williams and Sophfronia Mae Williams-Coleman; and one son-in-law, Jerry “Peter” Campbell.
Survivors include two sons, Joe Earl Williams of Natchez, and Freddie Monroe Williams III of St. Paul, Minn.; three daughters, Arlinda Williams-Campbell of Natchez, Beatrice Williams of Rowlett, Texas, and Anna Lisa Williams of Carrollton, Texas; one sister, Inell Williams-Washington of Natchez; 19 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a number of nephews, nieces and other relatives and friends.
