NATCHEZ — USA Weekend, the Sunday magazine that has appeared in The Natchez Democrat for many years, has decided to close its doors.

The magazine, owned by the Gannett Corporation, announced earlier this month that it would close its doors at the end of this year. The last copy produced will be published in the Sunday, Dec. 28, edition of The Democrat.

In addition, this Sunday’s copies were not received in Natchez because of an apparent problem in shipping.

Democrat publisher Kevin Cooper said he regretted the magazine’s decision to close its doors, but that it would not be replaced.
