MONTEREY — Services for Vera Allen Crane Mangiaracina, 89, of Monterey, who died Monday, Dec. 22, 2014, at her residence, will be at 11 a.m. today at the Monterey Church of Christ with the Rev. Clyde Grammon officiating.

Burial will follow at the Crane Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time today at the church.

Mrs. Mangiaracina was born March 4, 1925, in Monterey, the daughter of Jack T. Crane and Ruth LaCroix Crane.

She was a welder during war time for Delta Ship Yards in New Orleans and was also employed as a waitress.

Mrs. Mangiaracina was a resident of New Orleans for 62 years and returned to her home in Monterey after hurricane Katrina.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Francis William Mangiaracina; two brothers, Buddy Crane and Willie Crane; and two sisters, Doris Forman and Jean Graves.

Survivors include one son, Ray Mangiaracina and wife, Tina, of Prairieville, La.; one daughter, Joan Mangiaracina of Monterey; one brother, Sammy Crane and wife, Linda, of San Antonio, Texas; three sisters, Betty Bairnsfather and husband, Jack, and Ann Campbell and husband, Robert, all of Monterey, and Sue Crawford and husband, Arkie, of Little Rock, Ark.; six grandchildren, Jason Mangiaracina, Danny Parks, William Mangiaracina, Sarah Scroggins, Candace Stevens and Patrizia McGlothin; and 14 great-grandchildren and one on the way.

Pallbearers will be Vance Cross, Connor Domangue, Jeff Britt, Joe Bairnsfather, Lehman Lanehart, Kim Campbell, Jack Crane and Elliot Britt.
