VIDALIA — Funeral services for Henry L. Corley Jr., 85, of Vidalia, who died Saturday, Jan. 3, 2015, at Promise Health and Rehab Center in Vidalia, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Vidalia First Assembly of God with Bro. Tim Vanier officiating.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Natchez under the direction of Comer Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at First Assembly of God.

Corley was born on Nov. 6, 1929, in Gilbert, La., the son of Henry L. Corley Sr. and Boshie Anna Corley.

Corley was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Leon Corley, Whitney Corley and William Corley; and sisters, Racheal Russell, Mary Nelson, Kate Olsen, Inez Lofton, Ruth Cain and Audrey Brandenburg; and one grandchild, Carl Michael “Little Mike” Corley Jr.

Corley was a dedicated member of Vidalia First Assembly of God where he served as a deacon and later served as an elder of the church. Corley served the Lord faithfully and also ministered at Camelot Nursing Home as long as his health allowed him to. He enjoyed playing his harmonica and spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and sharing the word of God. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing on the Mississippi River. Corley worked in the oilfield most of his life until retirement.

Survivors include his loving wife of 66 years, Meta Corley; two daughters, Linda Bonnette and husband, Cilton, and Carmel Corley, all of Vidalia; son, Carl Michael Corley Sr. of Vidalia; four grand daughters, Carla Curry and husband, Curtis, of Harrisonburg, Sandra Vanier and husband, Tim, of Vidalia, Christy Staggs and husband, Lee, of Denham Springs and Jennifer McCarthy of Baton Rouge; two grandsons, Jeff Bonnette and Joey Bonnette and wife, Catherine, all of Vidalia; eight great-grand daughters, Hayley Vanier, Heather Willis, Faith Lowe, Caitline Bonnette, Allie Corley, Anna Corley, Joelee Bonnette, all of Vidalia, and Skyler Bonnette of Baton Rouge; six great-grandsons, Chris Morace, Cody Nelson and wife, Emily, all of Harrisonburg, Caleb Corley and Scott Bonnette, all of Vidalia, Seth Curry of Harrisonburg and Derek Vainer of Vidalia; eight great-great grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews and friends.

Pallbearers are Jeff Bonnette, Chris Morace, Scott Bonnette, Lee Staggs, Caleb Corley and Seth Curry.

Honorary pallbearers are Joey Bonnette, Keister Dillinger, Derek Vanier and Ronnie L. Mizell Sr.
