FERRIDAY — Services for Inis Smith, 75, of Monterey, who died Sunday, Jan. 4, 2015, at St. Francis Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria, La., will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Young’s Funeral Home Chapel in Ferriday with the Rev. Gordon Finley officiating.

Burial will follow at the Green Family Cemetery in Monterey under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Smith was born June 1, 1939, in Monterey, the daughter of General Gile Green and Sarah Rice Green.

She retired after 30 years of service as a Vidalia clerk of court.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Aleen Pecanty, Ferbia Russell, Vera Morris Green and Judy K. Green; and three brothers, Samuel Gile Green, Leo Earl Green and Curtis Crain Green.

Survivors include her husband of 40 years, Richard Smith; one son, Curtis Brandon Smith and wife, Melissa, of Monterey; one stepson, Richard Smith Jr. and wife, Tammy, of Dallas; two grandsons, Weston Bryce Smith of Monterey and Richard Smith III of Arkansas; one brother, Harbert “Cotton” Green of Jonesville; three sisters, Mary Burley and Sarah Barbara Pecanty and husband, Norman, all of Monterey, and Inez Sturgeon and husband, Charles, of Hattiesburg; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be nephews.
