NATCHEZ — Funeral services for John Earl Scott, 59, of Natchez, who died Thursday, Jan. 8, 2015, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 2 p.m. today at Marshall Funeral Home Chapel in Natchez with the Rev. Danny Speed officiating.

Burial will follow at Riverside Baptist Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from noon until service time today at the funeral home.

Scott was born on Sept. 3, 1955, in Natchez, the son of Orland and Dorthy Ruth Baker Scott.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Fail Scott and Anita May; one brother, James Scott; one sister-in-law, Rita Collier; and one brother-in-law, Charlie Stampley.

Survivors include his loving and devoted wife, Shirley Stampley Scott; two daughters, Gail Scott and Kay Scott; one granddaughter, Rachal Case, all of Natchez; two sisters, Etta Porterpan of Port Gibson and Linda Ruth White of Brookhaven; one brother, Michael P. Scott of Aberdeen, Scotland; one sister-in-law, Sandra Stampley of Natchez; four brother-in-laws; Paul Stampley, Mike Collier, both of Natchez, Lorenzo Randy Stampley of Clayton, and Earl Stampley of Ridgeland; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
