FERRIDAY — Funeral arrangements for Nellie Pearl Russell, 79, of Clayton, who died Friday, Jan. 9, 2015, at Riverland Medical Center, are incomplete at Young’s Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 12 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Ms. Russell was born Sept. 5, 1935, in Ferriday, the daughter of Howard “Dado” and Edna Cross.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, William “Bill” Russell; and her first husband, F.A. “Buddy” Russell.

Survivors include her long-time companion, Sammy Butler of Clayton; one daughter, Loretta White and husband, Morgan, of Ferriday; one son, James Howard “Rusty” Russell and wife, Susan, of Laurel; one brother, Ray Fields of Columbia, La.; seven grandchildren, William “Will” Russell, Randy Russell and wife, Pam, Amber Russell, G.J. McIntosh III “Toby” and wife, Julie, Byron Donaldson, Whitney Russell and Hanna Russell; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
