FERRIDAY — Nellie Pearl “Nell” Russell, 79, of Clayton, died Friday, Jan. 9, 2015, at Riverland Medical Center in Ferriday.

Arrangements are under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from noon until 2 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Ms. Russell was preceded in death by her parents, Howard “Dado” and Edna Cross; one son, William “Bill” Russell; and her first husband, F.A. “Buddy” Russell.

Survivors include her longtime companion, Sammy Butler of Clayton; one daughter, Loretta White and husband, Morgan, of Ferriday; one son, James Howard “Rusty” Russell and wife, Susan, of Laurel; one brother, Ray Fields of Columbia, La.; seven grandchildren, William “Will” Russell, Randy Russell and wife, Pam, Amber Russell, G.J. “Toby” McIntosh III and wife, Julie, Byron Donaldson, Whitney Russell and Hanna Russell; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
