VIDALIA — Services for Elaine Johnson Smith, 88, of Houston, formerly of Vidalia, who died Saturday, Jan. 10, 2015, at Grace Care Center in Cypress, Texas, will be at 11 a.m. today at Young’s Funeral Home in Vidalia with the Rev. Nance Hixon officiating.

Burial will follow at the Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Smith was born June 2, 1926, in Pollock, La., the daughter of Owen Johnson and Verlia Slayter Johnson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Herman Ray Smith; one grandson, Matthew Smith; one great-granddaughter, Ashtyn Kay Smith; one brother, Robert Johnson; and one sister, Laverne Schooler.

Survivors include one daughter, Kay Norwood and husband, Andrew, of Houston; one son, Ray Smith and wife, Katherine, of Deer Park, Texas; one brother, Lynn Johnson of Pollock; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Andrew Norwood, Kyle Tillman, Tommy Smith, Billy Busch, J.W. Guidry and Kevin Praytor.
