NATCHEZ – Services for Laura L. Gillen, 92, of Baton Rouge, formerly of Natchez, who died Monday, Jan. 12, 2015, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Alan Hopkins officiating.

Burial will follow at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Gillen was born Jan. 26, 1922, in Natchez, the daughter of Phineaus Corban and Minnie Halford Corban.

She was a member at St. Johns United Methodist Church in Baton Rouge.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Shapard Gillen; her parents; one daughter, Laura Ellen Gillen; and two brothers, Lawrence and Grady Corban.

Survivors include one daughter, Cheryl Gillen Helmick of Baton Rouge; one granddaughter, Erica Helmick Zimmerer of Jackson; one great-grandson, Luke Aucoin of Jackson; and a special friend, Ted McDavitt of Houston.

Pallbearers will be Stephen Zimmerer, Ted McDavitt, Wayne Turner, Tom Helmick, and Tommy Sylvester.

Memorials may be made to the Oschner Foundation.
