NATCHEZ — The Natchez Police Department is looking for a suspect who reportedly walked into a local pharmacy looking for drugs — but he didn’t come armed with a prescription.
He came with a knife.
NPD Lt. Craig Godbold said at approximately 8 p.m. Wednesday a man with a slender build walked into the Walgreens at the corner of Lynda Lee Drive and D’Evereux Drive wearing a wool cap over his head and a dark bandanna.
“He walked back to the pharmacy and held them up at knifepoint, and he was able to get an undetermined amount of hydrocodone,” Godbold said.
The suspect was able to leave the store before the employees were able to call the police, Godbold said.
“(The suspect) just walked in and walked out, and he wasn’t in a hurry,” he said.
The Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics is assisting the NPD in the investigation, Godbold said, and anyone with information about the robbery should contact Crime Stoppers at 601-442-5000.
Crime Stoppers offers rewards of up to $1,000 for tips leading to the arrest and conviction of a suspect. Callers may remain anonymous.
