Stan’s Outlook: Nice weather ahead

Published 12:02 am Thursday, January 29, 2015

Thursday, January 29, 2015 outlook.

Fortunately we have enjoyed some very nice weather over the weekend and into the early part of this week following late last week’s 1.5 inches of rain. The weather for the rest of the week should continue to be partly cloudy with mild afternoons and chilly nights.

There is a chance of patchy fog Thursday morning, mainly before approximately 9 a.m. with a high temperature in the 70s. Please be cautious and courteous on your travels. This nice weather should continue until Saturday night into Sunday where our chances of rain will increase to 80 percent.

As we enter next week rain chances will again increase for Tuesday and Wednesday.

The Mississippi River currently is at approximately 23.14 feet and will continue to drop over the next several days, and then maintain a level of between 21 and 22 feet for several days.

This is an experimental project that The Natchez Democrat and I will be working on. It may grow and blossom with ripe fruit or it may just die on the vine. Who knows? Let me tell you right off, putting boring weather into words is not as easy as it sounds but beats the alternative of severe weather. Enjoy it!  Stay tuned for the next adventure.

Be safe and aware.
