FERRIDAY — Services for Lola Ferrington Cowan, 91, who died Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2015, at The Columns Nursing Home in Jonesville, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Dunbarton Baptist Church in Ferriday with the Rev. Dennis Baker officiating.
Burial will follow at the Cypress Grove Cemetery in Ferriday under the direction of Magnolia Funeral Home in Alexandria, La.
Visitation will from 5 to 10 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday, both at the church.
Mrs. Cowan lived a long and productive life and will be greatly missed by many.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin A. “Bill” Cowan; one great-granddaughter, Sarah; her parents, Jack Ferrington and Vellie Lee Ferrington; one brother, Oree Ferrington; and on son-in-law, Cecil Ferrington.
Survivors include seven children, Jeanette Ferrington, Bobby Cowan and wife, Marie, Kathy McCarthy and husband, Jerry, all of Ferriday, Ann Walsworth and husband, Kenneth, and Jackie Cummings and husband, Don, all of Natchez, Richard Cowan and wife, Anita, of Lamar, and Billy Cowan and wife, Marci, of Bogalusa, La.; one sister, Stella Smith of Natchez; 17 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews and other family.
Pallbearers will be Charlie Ferrington, Shane Walsworth, Brandon Walsworth, Justin Cowan, Brent McCarthy and Tel Faulkner.
Honorary pallbearer will be Ethan Faulkner.
