NATCHEZ — A single-vehicle wreck that took out a power pole at the intersection of State Street and Arlington Avenue this afternoon has knocked out power to the surrounding neighborhood, as well as the traffic lights along Martin Luther King Jr. Street.
Natchez Police Department Capt. Tom McGehee said Entergy crews are en route to assess the situation, but told the police department it could be hours before power is restored.
NPD officers are working to control traffic at the intersections where the stoplights are down, McGehee said.
An outage map on the Entergy website shows the outage impacted 441 residences.
McGehee said he was unsure of the condition of the driver involved in the wreck, but said an ambulance was not dispatched to the scene.
