Area students invited to college aid event

NATCHEZ — Area students seeking to attend college can complete and file a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and state forms for college financial aid are invited to attend the Natchez-Adams School District’s “College Goal Sunday” event Saturday, Feb. 21.
The event will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Natchez High School, and applicants can come at any time between the scheduled hours.
There is no cost to attend, complete or file the forms.
Students interested in attending are asked to bring a copy of federal tax returns, driver’s license, W-2 forms or other records of money earned, current bank statements or total cash-on-hand, amount of investments not in retirement accounts and current business information.
Applicants should bring those documents, as well as their social security numbers and birthdates.
The nationwide event is generally hosted on Sunday afternoon, but dates vary per state.
College Goal Sunday is a state-based volunteer program that provides free information and assistance to students and families who are applying for financial aid for postsecondary education.
