WOODVILLE — Services for Samuel E. “BoGator” Smith, 82, of Woodville, who died Tuesday, March 3, 2015, at his residence, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Woodville Baptist Church with the Rev. Bernard Waites and the Rev. Warren Whitaker II officiating.

Burial will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery in Woodville under the direction of Newman Funeral Home in Centreville.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until service time Friday, both at the church.

Mr. Smith was born June 21, 1932, in Centreville, the son of Ernest H. Smith and Bessie Mae James Smith.

He served as circuit clerk for Wilkinson County and retired after 24 years of service.

He was also a member of Woodville Baptist Church.

Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Carrol Smith; and one sister, Georgia Jones.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Inez Smith; two daughters, Cheryl Cavin and husband, Mark, of Woodville and Stacey Crum and husband, Gary, of Crosby; three sons, Ernie Smith and Winn Smith, both of Woodville, and James Smith and wife, Kim, of Harrisville; one sister, Stella Jensen and husband, Prentiss of Houston; one brother, John Smith of Byram; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Richard E. Jones, Carrol M. Smith, Raymond H. Smith, Kyle W. Dunaway, Samuel C. Cavin, Samuel B. Smith and Ronald Tyler McAndrews.

Honorary pallbearers will be Tom George Flowers, Douglas Bell, Dr. David McGraw, Dr. L.J. Owens, Dr. R.J. Field III, Dr. Robert Lewis, Andrew J. Lewis, James Vines, Ron Senko, David Bramlette and Jessie Stewart.
