Leatus “Lee” Storey Jr.

MARKVILLE — Funeral services for Mr. Leatus “Lee” Storey Jr., 54, of Pineville, who died Thursday, March 12, 2015, at Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria, will be at 2 p.m. today at the Chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home in Marksville with the Rev. Mike Wilkinson officiating.

Burial will follow at St. Alphonsus Cemetery in Hessmer under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Marksville.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. today in at the funeral home.

Mr. Storey is the son of Leatus Storey Sr. and Connie Burley Storey.

He was a graduate of USL with an associate degree in general studies, which he received in 1990, and Bachelor’s Degree in General Studies in 1992.

Storey was a volunteer for The Extra Mile serving in many positions. He was also employed by The Extra Mile as Activity Director at New Beginnings Drop In Center in Jonesville and at the CTC Gift Shop in Pineville.

He was trained as a Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) Facilitator. This enabled him to assist others in developing a WRAP plan to use as a tool to stay well, maintain relationships and recover a full life and helping others identify those who support you in life and prevent crisis. Storey was a true advocate for people living with mental illness and would assist them as needed. He was well loved by staff, volunteers and consumers.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Mandy Faye Storey of Pineville; stepson, Travis Villemarette; five sisters, Leah Storey Rodgers and husband, Dick, of Heber Springs, Ark., Frances Storey Price and husband, Warren, of Ethel, La., Sydney Storey White and husband, Bill, of Orange County, Stephanie Storey Blunschi and husband, Johnny, of Ferriday, and Deborah Storey Odom and husband, Billy, of Jackson, La.

Pallbearers will be Dennie LaFleur, Travis Villemarette, Richard L. Rodgers, Gregory E. Decker, Chad LaFleur, John E. Blunschi III and Eddie Buhler.

Honorary pallbearers will be Warren Taylor Price, William Paul Odom and William Edward White.
