VIDALIA — Services for Richard “Doc” Adam Wilkes, 58, of Natchez, who died Sunday, March 22, 2015, in Natchez, will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Young’s Funeral Home Chapel in Vidalia with the Rev. Bobby Arnold officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.
Visitation will be at 5 to 8 p.m. today and at 9 a.m. until service time Wednesday, both at the funeral home.
Mr. Wilkes was born Aug. 23, 1956, in Natchez, the son of William Kirk Wilkes and Dorothy Atwood Wilkes.
Doc Wilkes proudly served his country in the U.S. Army National Guard.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Billie Maples.
Survivors include three daughters, Erica Wilkes Velazquez and husband, Pedro, and Sabrina Wilkes, all of Natchez, and Adrianna Wilkes, of Gilbert, La.; one son, David Joiner of Natchez; two brothers, William Kirk Wilkes Jr. and wife, Miranda, of Arkansas and Bruce Spence and wife, Valarie, of Vidalia; one sister, Pamela Wilkes McCaskill Merriett of Roxie; two grandsons, Brandon Velazquez and Remington Evans; and two granddaughters, Rheagan Evans and Isabella Velazquez.
Pallbearers will be John Thurman, Tyler Spence, Michael Spence, Joel McCaskill, William Stone and David Merriett.
Honorary pallbearers will be Rickey Burns and Randy Maples.
