NATCHEZ — Memorial services for Robert “Bob” Howell Wallace Sr., 73, of Milton, Fla., who died Tuesday, March 24, 2015, after a lengthy illness, will be celebrated at 3 p.m. Sunday at Immanuel Baptist Church in Natchez.03:28 RobertWallace obitpic

Burial of his ashes will follow at the Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at the church.

Arrangements are under the direction of Trahan Family Funeral Home in Pensacola, Fla.

Mr. Wallace was born Feb. 2, 1942, in Summit, the son of Louis Howell and Bernice Allred Wallace.

After a successful career with Gulfco Investments, in Marksville, La., Bob moved to Baton Rouge and co-founded the Continental Mortgage Company, which grew to maintain offices throughout Louisiana and Mississippi. In later years, Bob retired to Florida, fulfilling one of his lifelong dreams.

He will be remembered most for his happiness and kindness, his unending generosity and his enthusiasm for and his love of life. He took care of everyone.

Mr. Wallace was preceded in death by his beloved parents; his paternal grandparents, Pat William and Ida Williams Wallace; maternal grandparents, James Walsh and Fannie Francis Moak Allred; one son, Robert “Sam “ Howell Wallace Jr.; his beloved brother and best friend, Louis Jerry Wallace; and one sister, Brenda Wallace Deer.

Survivors include an extended family; his wife, Judy R. Wallace; five sons, Jeff Wallace and wife, Heike, of Wittlich, Germany, Michael Craft and wife, Janet, Carl Palasota and partner, Don Morgan, of Baton Rouge, Daryl Craft and wife, Debbie, of Livingston, La., and Newt Conn of Pensacola; one daughter, Lynne Conn of Ferriday; one sister, Helen Wiley Robbins and husband, Art, of Westlake, La.; one brother-in-law, Henry Deer; five grandchildren, Rebecca Wallace and Lucas Wallace, both of Wittlich, Lauren C. Williams of Baton Rouge, Brittani C. Mather of Austin, Texas and Mason Craft of Livingston; four nieces, Debbie W. Blackwell and Sherry W. Kizer, both of Natchez, Susan W. Lester of San Antonio, Texas, and Amanda W. Cortez of Westlake; three nephews, Buddy Wallace of Brookhaven, Bill Deer of Petal and Wally Deer of Brandon; and former spouses, Patricia Lee of Mel Rouge, La., and Bettye H. Palasota of Baton Rouge.
