ORMOND BEACH, Fla. — Winford F. Drane, C.P.O. (USN ret), 80, died Sunday, March 22, 2015, in Palm Coast, Fla., after a brief illness.

Services will be scheduled at a later date.

He was the only son of Winford F. and Regina Thames Drane.

Mr. Drane proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. After service, he settled down in Natchez, where he worked for the city of Natchez for most of his civilian career. He was well known in the Natchez aviation community.

Mr. Drane was also a Mason.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Helen Brann Drane; three daughters, Donna Niemczyk and husband, Stanley, Rhonda Mager and husband, Jim, and Scotti Broom and husband, Clark; one sister, Pamela Brumett; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
