NATCHEZ — Services for Robert “Pop” Armsted Jr., 57, of Natchez, who died Friday, March 27, 2015, at the University Medical Center in Jackson, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Jerusalem Baptist Church with the Rev. Earnest Ford Sr. officiating.

Burial will follow at the Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.

Visitation will be at 3 to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home in Natchez and at 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Mr. Armsted was born Feb. 25, 1958, in Fayette, the son of Robert Armsted Sr. and Mary Armsted.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Survivors include his mother; one daughter, Shamekia Shannell Ware; two sons, Robert Armsted III and Kendrick K. Armsted; one sister, Deloris Ware and husband, Marvin; seven brothers, Clarence Armsted Sr. and wife, Carol, Larry Armsted and wife, Gilbertine, Paul Armsted Sr. and wife, Betty, Lonnie Armsted, Steve Armsted and wife, Michelle, Herbert Armsted and wife, Tasha, and Patrick Armsted; seven grandchildren; one uncle, Samuel Green; one special friend, Angela Felts; three friends raised like brothers, Lonnell Conner, Philip Norman and Randall Newell; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
