Katherine Tumminello & Jerald Mefferd

Dr. and Mrs. Sam C. Tumminello of Natchez announce the engagement of their daughter, Katherine Tumminello to Jerald Mefferd, son of Ms. Noreen Mefferd Brown and the late Mr. Stan Mefferd of Atlanta.

She is a graduate of Cathedral High School in Natchez, a graduate of Millsaps College in Jackson and received her medical doctorate from the University of Mississippi Medical Center, also in Jackson.

She is presently pursuing her residency in pathology at the University of Alabama Medical School in Birmingham.

She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin W. LaCoste of New Orleans and Ms. Gene Tumminello and the late Mr. Sam Tumminello of Ferriday.

The groom-to-be is a graduate of Locanpo High School in Citrus County, Fla., a graduate of the University of South Florida in Tampa and will also receive his medical doctorate from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in May 2015. He plans to pursue his residency in pediatrics at the University of Mississippi Medical School in Jackson.

He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Jay Inlow of Citrus and the late Mr. and Mrs. Josh McConnell of Denison, Iowa.

The wedding will be Saturday, April 24, 2015, at St. Mary Basilica in Natchez.

A reception will follow at the Prentiss Club.
