NATCHEZ — Services for Mrs. Eugene Gilmore Howard, 89, of Natchez, who died Sunday, April 19, 2015, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Pilgrim Baptist Church with the Rev. Edward Brown officiating.
Burial will follow at the Sunset View Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.
Visitation will be at 3 to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home chapel in Natchez and at 9 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.
Mrs. Howard was born Feb. 28, 1926, in Foules, La., the daughter of Fred and Mary Mikel Gilmore.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Allen James Howard; three children, Roy Gilmore, Margaret Lewis and Patrick Johnson; five siblings, Robert Gilmore, Norman Gilmore, Ernest Gilmore, Barbara Cloy and Fred Gilmore; and one great-granddaughter, Jamie Lewis.
Survivors include four daughters, Norma Lee Hammett, Mary “Liz” Howard, both of Natchez, Jeanette Howard Moore and husband, Felton, of Fayetteville, N.C. and Patricia Howard Foster and husband, Willie, of Longview, Texas; two nieces, Tracie Clayton and Marilyn Gilmore; six nephews, Joseph Clay, Norman Van Gilmore, Rodney Clay, Carl Gilmore, Edward Clay and Freddie Clay; 14 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives and friends.
