Weekend Ticket: Trinity Mayfair, World Voices headline weekend

NATCHEZ — A Trinity Mayfair and an array of music events will keep Miss-Lou residents moving this weekend.

Sunny and pleasant skies are expected throughout the weekend.

Trinity Mayfair will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Trinity Episcopal Day School.

The Trinity Mayfair serves as the school’s largest fundraiser and will give the community a chance to enjoy great food and great fun.

This year’s theme is ‘70s Flower Power.

Activities will include:

4 Kid zone, Mayfair Market, silent auction, coffee and pastry bar and sweet tooth booth at 9 a.m.

4 Students report to homeroom at 10:30 a.m.

4 ‘70’s Rockin’ Revue in school gym at 11 a.m.

4 Dedication of flag pole at 11:45 a.m.

4 Plate lunch served in school cafeteria from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

4 Live auction begins in Trinity gym, while afternoon kid activities will begin and will include Glamour Girls Boutique, Movies and Popcorn and Playground fun at 12:30 p.m.

Natchez Festival of Music

The 25th anniversary of the Natchez Festival of Music will host a lineup of events that will give the community music to reflect today’s generation.

A Night at the Oscars II

The annual event begins at 7 p.m. Saturday with “A Night at the Oscars II,” during which the historic Margaret Martin Performing Arts Center will be transformed into a concert hall for opening night.

Tickets are $25 and $10 for students K-12, adult with K-12 student, college and active military with current ID.

Margaret Martin Performing Arts Center is located on 64 Homochitto St. in downtown Natchez.

World Voices

The Natchez Festival of Music will continue with “World Voices” with pianist Jonathon Levin at 3 p.m. Sunday at Trinity Episcopal Church.

The event explores the traditions of music from across the globe.

Tickets are $20 and $10 for students K-12, adult with K-12 student, college and active military with current ID.

Trinity Episcopal Church is located on 305 South Commerce St. in downtown Natchez.

Rossini, Puccini and

Martinis

Festival of music performers will gather at Historic Natchez Foundation for the first two “Martini” evenings of live entertainment at 7 p.m. Saturday.

Admission is free and a cash bar will be available.

Historic Natchez Foundation is located on 108 S. Commerce St.

Concordia Parish Library presents “Meet the Beatles”

Concordia Parish Library will host a concert on the river at the Vidalia Conference and Convention Center at 7 p.m. today.

The concert will feature tribute band Meet the Beatles, who hail from Chicago and pays tribute to The Beatles with the complete look, accent, proper instruments and sound.

The group will play The Beatles biggest hits such as “I Want to Hold Your Hand” and “Help,” said Gary Caldwell, who is a resident of Vidalia.

Doors for the concert will open at 6 p.m. and is free of charge.

Film Coalition Meeting

Local and aspiring filmmakers will have the opportunity to meet like-minded individuals at 6:30 p.m. today at the Natchez Association for Preservation of African American Culture Museum.

The film coalition will be a monthly gathering of local filmmakers to share the love and film and give birth to future projects.

Light refreshments will be served.
