Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.

Visitation will be at 5 p.m. today until service time at the church.

Ms. Boone was born Feb. 3, 1969, in Pineville, La., the daughter of James Hughes and Mae Bell Morace, and grew up in Deerpark, La.

She was employed by H & R Block before leaving due to her illness.

Lorretta was an incredible person and loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed cutting grass and rearranging her home. You never knew what it would be like when you came home.

She also enjoyed bowling and traveling to tournaments with her mother. She loved all kids.

Lorretta was taken away too young, before she had grandkids of her own to spoil. She was too well loved to ever be forgotten.

Lorretta was preceded in death by her father; maternal grandparents, Homer and Lorretta Ray Morace; and paternal grandparents; Roche and Naomi Hughes.

Survivors include one daughter, Jessica Boone Brown; one son, Joshua Boone; her mother; her companion, Barry Lambert; a niece, Justice Hughes who she helped to raise; three sisters, Barbara Garcia, Tammy Bailey and Patricia Sissy Finney; her former husband and her children’s father, Eddie Boone; and a number of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews who dearly loved her.

Pallbearers will be Joe Adams, Keith Boone, Josh Melancon, Jeremy Melancon, William Anderson and Jeremy Taylor.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bryan Hennessy, B.J. Morace and Tony Duplechin.

The family thanks Old South Pawn Shop and the Miss-Lou community for helping raise money for her to fight cancer as long as she could.
