VIDALIA — Services for William Bailey Sr., 88, of Montgomery, Ala., formerly of Vidalia, who died Saturday, May 9, 2015, at the Baptist Hospital in Montgomery, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. Johnny Elery officiating.

Burial will follow at the Hawkins Cemetery in Barlow under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Visitation will be at 6 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home and at 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Mr. Bailey was born July 8, 1926, in Barlow, the son of Charlie and Beatrice Bailey.

He was retired from International Paper Company after 36 years of service.

Mr. Bailey was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Elizabeth Frazier Bailey; his parents; four brothers, O.C. Bailey, Bobby Bailey, Charles Bailey and Jimmy Bailey; and two sisters, Mary Shannon and Robbie Covington.

Survivors include three daughters, Brenda Smith and husband, Anthony, Carrie Austin and Burteal Frazier; three sons, William Bailey Jr. and wife, Sandra, Cleveland Bailey and wife, Darlette, and Lawrence Frazier; two sisters, Velma Smith and Mattie Black and husband, Earl; one sister-in-law, Johnny M. Bailey; one brother-in-law, James Lee Ivory; seven grandchildren, Shelia Baldwin and husband, Fred, Sharon Ardion and husband, Winston, Kirsten Smith, Cleveland Bailey Jr., Allison Smith, William Bailey and Jaslyn Bailey; three great-grandchildren, Brandon Lyles, Ashley Baldwin and Damien Baldwin; one great-great-grandchild, Caleb Lyles; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and beloved friends.
