FERRIDAY — Services for Helen Lee Hill, 73, of Ferriday, who died Friday, May 15, 2015, at Riverland Medical Center in Ferriday, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. James Baptist Church in Ferriday with the Rev. L.B. Oliver officiating.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Bateaste Memorial Funeral Home.
Visitation will be at 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Hill was born Dec. 3, 1941, in New Orleans, the daughter of Beulah Dorsey.
She attended the Greater St. Reed Baptist Church and served on the usher board. She was also an Eastern Star.
Mrs. Hill enjoyed cooking, fishing, enjoying her family and dancing.
She was preceded in death by her mother.
Survivors include her husband, Ogia Lee Hill; one daughter, Patricia Ann Jackson and husband, Vertrance; one brother, Charlie Butler Jr. and wife, Cynthia; two sisters, Angelia Dorsey and Charlene Barnes; three godchildren, Glenn Williams, William White and Verlinda Green; a special nephew, Clarence Dorsey and wife, Lazelle; and a number of nieces, nephews and relatives.
Pallbearers will be Glenn Williams, William White, Charlie Butler, Cornell Lewis, Clarence Dorsey and Kenneth Lloyd.
