FERRIDAY — Services for Virginia Leavins Money, 87, who died Monday, May 25, 2015, at Riverland Medical Center in Ferriday, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at The Pentecostals of The Miss Lou with the Rev. Gary Howington and the Rev. Jeremy Howington officiating.
Burial will follow at the Lone Pine Cemetery in Monterey under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.
Visitation will be at 5 to 8 p.m. today at the church.
Mrs. Money was born Oct. 13, 1927, in Lake Wales, Fla., the daughter of Dave and Mary Leavins.
She was a homemaker and a member of The Pentecostals of Miss Lou.
Mrs. Money was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John D. Money; one daughter, Mary Lenora Poole; infant son, George David Money; son, Joe Edward Money; four brothers, James T. Leavins, Andrew Jack Leavins, Sanders E. Leavins and Lloyd D. “Pete” Leavins; and three sisters, Mary Jo Leavins, Annie Pippen and Magdalene McGhin.
Survivors include two sons, Donald Wayne Money and wife, Elaine, of Clayton and John D. Money Jr. and wife, Sandra, of Ferriday; six grandsons, Jason Money and wife, Brandi, John D. Money III and wife, Rhiannon, Michael D. Money and wife, Shanna, Benjamin P. Money and wife, Ferran, Gregory Kevin Poole and wife, Stacy, and James E. Poole and wife, Randi; two granddaughters, Patty Chapman and husband, Donnie, and Casie Adams and husband, Nicholas; 23 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
