FERRIDAY — Services for Gwendolyn Eugenia Barnett, 88, of Ferriday, who died Friday, June 12, 2015, will be at 1 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church of Ferriday with Bro. Josh Morea and Bro. Roger Johnson officiating.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Young’s Funeral Home and from noon until service time Monday.

Burial will follow at New Prospect Cemetery in Brookhaven under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.

Barnett was born on May 9, 1927, in Greensburg, La., the daughter of William and Keturah McKinney Venable.

She was a member of First Baptist Church of Ferriday.

She was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Candace Elissa Forman; and sister, Mildred Bankston.

Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Brant Barnett; daughter, Angeline Baldridge of Denham Springs, La.; son, Gene Barnett and wife, Janet, of Houston; and four granddaughters, Monica Hodges, Kim Forman, Rachelle Thinnes and husband, Terry, and Amy Ketchum.; six great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.
