NATCHEZ — Adams County Circuit Clerk Eddie Walker said absentee voting for the August elections will begin in the circuit clerk’s office at 8 a.m. Monday.
The last day to register to vote for the Aug. 4 and 25 primary elections will be July 4. The circuit clerk’s office will be open from 8 a.m. to noon that day for last minute registration.
Absentee voting will be available from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays through Aug. 1.
On the ballot are state elections including governor, state house and senate seats and county elections such as sheriff, chancery and circuit clerk, board of supervisors and coroner.
Walker said in order to cast an absentee ballot voters must be registered in Adams County and have a valid photo ID.
Acceptable proofs of residency for voters registering can include a driver’s license with an Adams County address or a utility bill, among others, Walker said.
Because July 4 falls on a Saturday, the office will observe the Independence Day holiday July 3, the day designated by the State of Mississippi, he said.
