Natchez Fire Department Lt. Eddie Hawkins runs back to the firetruck for supplies while fighting a fire on North Bluebird Drive at the home of Walter Mackel Sr. Mackel and his grandson Kentrell Mackel were home at the time of the fire. Kentrell helped Mackel, who is wheelchair bound, out of the house. Mackel was taken to Merit Health Natchez with minor burns. All offers of assistance to the family can be directed to 601-660-8466.
