Sen. Vitter to visit this weekend

VIDALIA — U.S. Sen. David Vitter will visit the City of Vidalia this weekend.
Vitter will host a meet-and-greet at 6:45 p.m. Saturday at the Vidalia Conference and Convention Center.
The event is officially a campaign stop in his current bid for the Louisiana’s governor’s office.
Vitter, R-New Orleans, is the senior senator from Louisiana. He was first elected to the Senate in 2004 and previously served as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives.
Other major party candidates in the race include Republicans Scott Angelle and Lt. Gov. Jay Dardenne and Democrat John Bel Edwards.
The election primary will be Oct. 24, with a run-off Nov. 21.
Qualifying will be Sept. 8 to 10.
