FERRIDAY — Services for Ernestine Henderson, 85, of Ferriday, who died Saturday, June 20, 2015, at her residence, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at The Harvest Baptist Church with the Rev. Justin Conner officiating.

Burial will follow at the Ferriday Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Visitation will be at 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Henderson was born Nov. 14, 1929, in Lismore, La., the daughter of Richard James and Viola Stubberfield.

She was a homemaker and a Baptist.

Mrs. Henderson was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Louis Henderson Jr. and Richard Henderson; and three daughters, Bobbye Henderson, Ethel James and Veronica James.

Survivors include her loving husband, Louis Henderson; six sons, Roy James Sr. and wife, Wanda, of Colorado Springs, Colo., Ben Henderson, Maury Henderson and Van Henderson, all of Ferriday, Carlos Henderson of Alexandria, La., and Lionel Mosby and wife, Ollie, of Monroe, La.; six daughters, Viola Armstrong, Delores Henderson, Linda Henderson, Lawanda Lyles and husband, Earl, all of Ferriday, Vickey Henderson of San Antonio, Texas, and Tammy Henderson of Monroe; four brothers, Otis James, Bobby James, both of Chicago, Marvin James of Houston and Richard Jefferson of Jonesville; one sister, Marilyn Williams of Chicago; 29 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; two special aunts, Josie Benson and Ella Reed, both of Chicago; one godchild, Connie Griggs of New York, N.Y.; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
