MONTEREY — Services for Vanice Marley Osmon, 90, of Monterey, who died Wednesday, June 24, 2015, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Lismore Baptist Church with the Rev. Byron Gray, the Rev. C.D. Beard and the Rev. Russell Crum officiating.
Burial will follow at the Oswalt Cemetery in Monterey under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.
Visitation will be at noon until service time Saturday at the church.
Mr. Osmon was born Jan. 29, 1925, in Bald Knob, Ark., the son of Jessie and Mary Osmon.
He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean War. He also worked as a mechanic and as a farmer. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Mr. Osmon was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ruby Morace Osmon; one son, Vanice “Butch” Osmon Jr.; and one brother, Thomas E. Osmon.
Survivors include two nieces, Betty Ann Bluh of Jacksonville, Ark., and Mary Bilan and husband, Pete, of Albuquerque, N.M.; four great-nieces and great-nephews, Sean Bluh, Stacey Bluh, Peter T. Bilan and Michael Bilan; and special friends, Oscar K. McNeely and Pete Wheeler.
Pallbearers will be Sean Bluh, Dennis Bluh, Wyman W. Wheeler and John N. Wheeler.
Honorary pallbearers will be Oscar K. McNeely, Pete Wheeler and Dennis Bluh.
