Lecora Fleming Hogue

June 1, 1916 – June 24, 2015

NATCHEZ — Services for Lecora Fleming Hogue, 99, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, June 24, 2015, at Merit Health Community Campus, will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday at Greater New Zion Baptist Church.

Burial will follow at the Sunset View Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Curtis Funeral Home.

Visitation will be at 9 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the church.

Mrs. Hogue was born June 1, 1916, in Adams County, the daughter of Freddie Fleming and Sarah Foster.

She was raised by her grandparents, John and Harriet Foster.

Lecora attended Windy Hill School and later attended the adult program, STAR.

She was baptised by the Rev. James Franklin during the 1940s and became a member of New Zion Baptist Church.

Mrs. Hogue married Robert C. Hogue in 1936, and to this union one daughter was born. She moved to New Orleans in the late 1950s, returning to Natchez in the late 1960s.

Mrs. Hogue was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; and one brother, Sam Hardin.

Survivors include one daughter, Dorothy Hogue Sanders; one goddaughter, Annie Lee Johnson; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
