NATCHEZ — Graveside services for William Jerry Walker Sr., 76, of Brookhaven, who died Thursday, July 2, 2015 at his residence, will be at 11 a.m. Monday, July 6, 2015 at the Natchez City Cemetery with the Rev. Brian Monehan officiating.

Burial will follow at Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Mr. Walker was born Dec. 10, 1938 in Ruth, the son of William Alfred Walker and Velma Christine Kyzar Walker.

Most days you could find him tending to his garden, cutting the land, or in the kitchen. He had a passion for cooking. You could ask him to make you just about anything and he would. He adored his grandchildren. Spending time with them always brought joy to his heart. His children were the light in his eyes.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one grandson, Brandon Tyler Walker, and one sister, Linda Germany.

Survivors include his loving wife and best friend, Jeanie; four sons: Jerry Walker Jr. and wife, Teli, Timmy Walker, Daryl Walker and wife, Rajean, and Jason Walker and wife, Kayla; one daughter: Lisa Whittington and husband, Buddy; eight grandchildren: Caleb, Corey, Marissa, Ethen, Spencer, Jolie, Peyton and Olivia; one great-grandchild: Evan, with two more on the way; one brother: James Walker and wife, Debra; and three sisters: Nell Barnett, Flora Lee Cobb and Shirley Merritt and husband, Herman.

Pallbearers will be Jason Walker, Ethen Whittington, Spencer Whittington, Buddy Whittington, Caleb Walker and Corey Walker.
