FERRIDAY — Memorial services for Walice “Wally” Smith Jr., 56, a carpenter from Ferriday, who died Sunday, June 28, 2015, at his residence surrounded by his loving family, will be 4 p.m. Saturday at Westside Baptist Church in Ferriday.

Visitation will be 2 p.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Arrangements are under the direction of Comer Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Mr. Smith was born Sept. 18, 1958, the son of Walice E. Smith Sr. and Eyvonne Humble Smith.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Wesley Paul Smith; and one sister, Vera Carter.

Survivors include his wife, Cynthia “Cindy” Smith; three daughters, Rachell Smith and husband, Scott, Hiedi Smith and Joy Burr and husband, Jewell III, all of Ferriday; one son, Walice E. Smith III; six grandchildren, Nathan, Emily, Ashton, Jonathan, Jaelin and Jada; two brothers, Howard Byars and James Byars; one sister, Mary Ann Orcutt; and lifelong friend, David Myers.
