NATCHEZ — Services for John Edwin Segrest Jr., 30, of Diamondhead, who died Thursday, July 9, 2015, in Diamondhead, will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Mickey Alexander and the Rev. Jeff Cupit officiating.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until service time Sunday at the church.

Mr. Segrest was born Sept. 8, 1984, in Natchez, the son of John Segrest Sr. and Debbie Cupit Richardson.

He attended Copiah-Lincoln Community College and Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. He was a certified welder and was employed as a shipfitter.

John was a Christian.

He loved baseball, Louisiana State University football and had a special love for his sons.

John was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Robert and Dorothy Segrest.

Survivors include his mother and husband, Ed Richardson; John A. McCready, who helped to raise him, and his wife Cindy; two sons, Johnathan Kade Segrest and Zachary Rylan Segrest; four sisters, Melanie McCready and her husband, Jason Gable, April Pintard and husband, Scott, Ashley Owens and husband, Josh, and Anni Poole and husband, James; two brothers, John McCready and wife, Traci, and Travis McCready and wife, Rendy; grandparents, Dave Cupit and wife, Mary, and Chris Freeman and husband, Eddie; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
