NATCHEZ — Services for Donald Cain, 93, of Natchez, who died Sunday, July 19, 2015, at his residence, will be at 2 p.m. today at Church of God of Prophecy in Natchez with the Rev. Grady Fulton officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time today at the church.
Mr. Cain was born Sept. 24, 1921, in Franklin Parish, La., the son of Kirby Cain and Sally Mahoney Cain.
He was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy. He retired from International Paper Company after 34 years. He loved to work in his garden.
Mr. Cain loved his family and friends. His greatest joy was living for the Lord and serving Him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Inez Jones Cain; one grandson, Carl Shelton Dunn Jr.; two sisters; and one brother.
Survivors include his wife of 15 years, Ruth Geneva Cain; two daughters, Barbara Dunn and husband, Carl, of Natchez and Ruth Tyler and husband, L. E. “Butch,” of Monterey; one son, Donald Wayne Cain and wife, Jackie, of Gallatin, Tenn.; one step daughter, Eddie Susan Craft of Natchez; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by his best friend, Winkie.
Pallbearers will be Terry Dunn, Michael Cain, Brandon Cain, Aubrey Fulton, Johnny Havard and Trey Havard.
Honorary pallbearers will be Braxton Davis, Logan Cain, Dylan Case, Shelton Dunn Jr., his great grandsons, Vance Dunn and Forrest Foster.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to his caregivers, Dr. Kenneth Stubbs, Deaconess Home Care, Deaconess Hospice, family and friends.
