MAGEE — Services for Esther Beer Swalm, 89, of Magee, who died Monday, July 27, 2015, at Magee General Hospital, will be 10 a.m. today at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Magee with the Rev. Buddy Keys officiating.
Burial will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Colonial Chapel Funeral Home.
Ms. Swalm was a military wife for 23 years. She enjoyed attending reunions of the 356 Air Squadron with her husband, Frank.
She had a special love for her family and friends. After retiring from the Natchez-Adams public school system, she enjoyed volunteering, reading, baking and gardening.
Mrs. Swalm was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Steven Swalm; one son, John Allen Swalm; and one grandson, Peter Andrew Swalm.
Survivors include three sons, Michael Swalm and wife, Jan, of Lawrence, Kan., Christopher Swalm and wife, Renee, of Slidell, La., and David Swalm and wife, Kathy, of Magee; one daughter, Beth Pudas and husband, Matt, of Magee; one daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Swalm of Natchez; one brother, Ferd Beer and wife, Bernice, of Vidalia; one sister, Ida May Bolian of Jackson; three sisters-in-law, Grayce Mary Kelly and Carolyn Buchanan, both of California, and Beth Swalm of Texas; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to Samaritan’s Purse, Billy Graham Evangelistic Association or to a charity of choice.
