NATCHEZ — A Natchez man was arrested Monday on charges he broke into two buildings, took items and tried to sell them.
Jonathon Adam Myrick, 24, 306 Lower Woodville Road, was arrested on charges of burglary of a dwelling and burglary of a commercial building.
The victim — who is connected to a demolition crew on the former International Paper site — told Adams County Sheriff’s Office investigators Sunday someone had gone into his travel trailer and the guard shack at the IP property and taken computers from both buildings, according to reports at the ACSO.
Investigators were later contacted by a local pawn shop owner about some tablet computer Myrick had allegedly sold. The computers were later identified as the items taken during the burglary, reports said.
Security video of the area the items were stolen from also linked Myrick to the scene reports said, and after investigators received the suspect’s permission to search his residence, they reportedly found another computer linked to the burglary, reports said.
The suspect reportedly told officers he was borrowing the computer but had planned to return it before he was caught with it, reports said.
The incident is still under investigation.
