Mary Beard Fuentes

Sept. 11, 1963 – July 30, 2015

BATON ROUGE — Services for Mary Beard Fuentes, 51, of Baton Rouge, La., who passed away Thursday, July 30, 2015, at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital, will be at noon Monday, Aug. 3, 2015 at St. George Catholic Church in Baton Rouge.

Interment will follow at St. George Catholic Church Mausoleum.

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 3, 2015, from 11:00 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at the church.

Mary was born Sept. 11, 1963 in Natchez to Gene and Ann Thompson.

She was a member of St. George Catholic Church. She was a graduate of University of La. at Monroe (formerly Northeast La. University) and was employed as a speech pathologist with the East Baton Rouge Parish School System.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Beard.

Survivors include her parents, husband, Arturo Fuentes, children, Gabriela Fuentes, Pamela Hyvonen and husband, Peter, Camila Wiltcher and husband, Michael, and Felipe Fuentes, four grandchildren, three sisters, Sherrill Byrd, Susie Ater and husband, Al, and Holli Mangin and husband, Chris, as well as six nephews, three nieces, five great-nephews and four great nieces.  Pallbearers will be Lance Byrd, Alan Byrd, Thomas Ater, Preston Beard, Elliott Ater and Felipe Fuentes.

The family would like to thank Dr. David Hanson and his staff at the Louisiana Hematology/Oncology Associates and MD Anderson Hospital.
