He was a long-time resident of Tupelo and at the time of his death he was a resident of Collierville. He was an active member of his beloved Grace Crossing Church. He enjoyed a career in sales and marketing.
Laf was a 1972 graduate of South Natchez High School where he lettered in football and tennis and was a member of the Order of Demolay and a graduate of the University of Mississippi in social work. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Laf George was larger than life. Any and all that encountered him could see his childlike spirit and giving nature emanating through his smile and infectious laughter. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed all things nature and served as state president of Ducks Unlimited. But his biggest love was for his family and his pets.
