FERRIDAY— Funeral services for Melba Gail Rucker, 73, of Ferriday, who passed away on Saturday, Aug. 8, 2015 on Lake St. John, will be held at Sevier United Methodist Church, Ferriday, on Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2015 at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Truman Stagg officiating.

Internment will follow at Greenlawn Memoiral Park Cemetery, Natchez, under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends at Young’s funeral Home in Ferriday from 5-8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 10, 2015.

Melba Rucker was born on Thursday, Sept. 11, 1941 in Warren, Ark. to Hayward Dorman Langston and Cornelius Anderson Langston.

She was a resident of Lake St. John and a member of Sevier Memorial United Methodist Church in Ferriday. Melba was a great cook and loved sewing with the “Sewing Circus.”

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Dorman Langston Jr. and Aaron Langston; and one niece, Leah Langston. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, William “Billy” Rucker of Lake St. John, La.; one daughter, Martie Clary and husband, John, of Ruston, La., three grandsons, John Gray Clary, William Grant Clary and Joseph Graham Clary; one brother, Terry Langston and wife, Carol, of Metarie, La., four nieces, Debbie Coleman, Donnie Sue Govett, Wendy Majors and Natalie Quimby; and five nephews, Mitch Langston, Buck Langston, Steve Rucker, Gavin Langston and Dave Rucker.

Pallbearers will be Kenneth Hedricks, Mitch Langston, Buck Langston, Steve Rucker, Gabe Rucker, William Coleman, Larry Chauvin, Richard White and Delane Burnette.

Honorary pallbearers will be H.L. Irvin, Hyram Copeland, Dr. Kevin Ingram, Dr. Huey Moak, Dr. Phil Crace and Julian Glanton.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sevier United Methodist Church or charity of your choice.
